Sorry, this isnt new video post. Just something i wanted to talk about.

Usually, i try to spoil myself the least when it comes to future game releases. I found out a game is being made, then i just wait. I usually dont go on forums and speculate with my fellow gamers on how the game is going to be or such. It comes out, i play it, and then i go on the forum.

Read up a bit on FF13. ok so “Apparently” the PS3 version is going to be Gimped in favor of the xbox360 version or so i read. I hope its not true and i just have to express my own opinion about gimping games.

If you make a game for any system, you should utilize what the system has to offer. That doesnt neccesarilly mean graphics, but Memory is a big deal too. Look at the Nippon Ichi games, is anyone here going to say those games push the envelope of the PS2 or PS3 graphics capabilities? hell no, they’re using sprites. Same with GUST. They use oldschool graphics and instead utilize the system’s memory and DVD storage space to add more content in.

Apparently, Square said the PS3 version will be gimped and as far as the american version goes, it wont come with japanese audio with english subtitles because there isnt enough room on a DVD that 360s use. You know what i say? TOUGH FCKING SHIT! You either have a PS3, a Xbox 360 or both. half of my freinds own both consoles and they plan on buying the PS3 version because you know what? it supposed to be superior. The Xbox fanboys should be thankful they even get to play it. Its my same complaint with Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2. The first game (american release) had japanese and English audio, the 2nd game doesnt because it “Wouldnt fit” on a DVD. Because its not fair? If we apply that logic to other things…..

Nascar
Racer 1: oh, my car has a way better engine than your car.
Racer 2: but my car cant fit a bigger engine in it and my company doesnt have the money to get a better one.
Racer 1: oh, thats not fair, ok, then i’ll take out my engine and use the same one your using.

IT DOESNT WORK LIKE THAT!!!

Heres my take on multi-platform games.

1.Do all versions let you complete the full story?
2.Do all versions have the same game mechanics?
3.Do all versions feature the same items and weapons?

If the answer to all 3 questions is YES. then thats all that matters. Anything else is extra. Artwork? Audio? does this affect gameplay at all? no, you can still beat the game. Let PS3 users have it, they bought the expensive system, they should get what they paid for. If you truely want to please “Everyone” then just put it as a DLC for xbox-live. Its microsoft’s fault for still sticking with DVD’s. and Wii? well, Wii wasnt ment to “Push the envelope” anyway so its not right to compare.

If you own all 3 generation systems and a game came out on all 3, which would you buy? The PS3 right? Its the strongest of the 3 systems.

Take the latest Ghostbusters game for example. its on all 3 current generation system. The nintendo wii version is really different from the PS3 and Xbox….i wonder why…maybe thats because the Wii cant handle it. So if you only have a nintendo Wii and are crying about your version of Ghostbusters, well go buy a xbox or ps3 version and stop crying. Out of the 3 systems you chose to buy the Wii, so take it like a Man(or Woman). If your someone that owns 2 or all 3 of the systems, then congradulations, you have access to the entire library of this generation of games.

You know what? There are some games for the 360 i’d like to have, but its not enough for me to go buy a 360 for. I’m not going to sit here and complain that its not on the PS3. Thats why we have system wars in the first place. If all the companies were able to get along and make 1 universal system to play everything, we wouldnt have this problem in the first place. Tales of Vespia was not on the PS3. As a tales fan, i wanted to play it, but since the PS3 has all my dating sims and RPGs, guess which system i saved for and got at launch date….yup a ps3. If i had a 360 right now i would say i have about….4 games for it right now. Thats not enough justification for me to get the system. Heck, i have a gamecube but guess when i bought it? about 9 months ago where now, you can actually buy them for 20$ now, they are that cheap. I only have about 8 games for the gamecube. No justification to buy it when it was new, but plenty to buy it now since its so cheap. I’ll probably end up buying a 360 down the road maybe if the exlusives start to appeal to me, but thats probably gonna be when the xbox 720 and the ps4 comes around. Tales of Vespia is coming to the ps3 actually, and you know what? I’m happy that i’ll get to play it now. I dont care if the xbox version might be superior, thats my own fault for not having the xbox. As long as i can complete the main story, thats all that matters, its what RPGs are for. I’ve been hearing complaints from xbox users that the ps3 version might be superior. well you know what? the PSP versions of Disgaea 1 and 2 are superior to the ps2 versions. Does that mean you have to go and buy the PSP versions and replay the same game with only slightly altered stuff again? no it doesnt, only if your a hardcore enough fan. I did my grinding in Disgaea for the ps2, i only bought the PSP version just to play the extra modes. Some people may not find that a justifiable reason to pay 50$ for a game they already own, but i do. because i’m that big of a fan.

Heres another example. My all time favorite Dating sim, Suigetsu. I have the original for PC. I bought EVERY remake of the game they made. Is it the same game? ofcoures. Well, the PS2 version did add some elements to it. But am i going to complain that one version is better than the other? no, because both games do give you the same thing. If you want the extra goodies, then get the ps2 version. I even bought the PSP version as well.

Festa Hyper girls party, another dating sim i originally have for the PC. The PS2 version has voice acting and 1 added character. Though it does come with the cost of the H-scenes. I got both. I’d say it evens each other out and that both versions are equal. How about Fate/Stay Night? THe original is not voiced but the newer version is. Is it better because its voiced? that depends on the person. I myself did not buy the voiced version because i prefer to go with the voiced i imagined for the characters.

Sorry about the large rant guys. I’ll try to get some touhou videos up. Geez…how often have i said that?
